Course Update

The Greenkeepers have been working hard on the golf course and we have received many compliments (particularly regarding the greens) which is always good to hear. That being said, they still have a lot of hard work to do and are planning some course maintenance commencing next Wednesday.

All greens will be hollow cored with a 13mm tine to a depth of 2-3 inches, the cores will be collected, and then top dressing worked into the holes.  It is essential to carry out this work to try to reduce/or get rid of the thatch level back down to the guidelines for percentage thatch to green.  The reason for doing this is to help us in the winter months.  The thatch acts as a sponge for water so by removing as much as possible, the greens will hold less water and over time become firmer to play.  In the short term this does cause disruption to play but we hope that the long-term benefits will make it worth it!

PLEASE NOTE: On Wednesday 4th May and Thursday 5th May, play will be restricted to 9 holes only.

We are also doing some long-awaited work on the bunkers during the next week or so which may mean that some of them will be marked as ground under repair.

WINTER RULES WILL NO LONGER APPLY AS FROM FRIDAY 6TH MAY 2022.

The Knock-Out Competitions have been drawn so please look at the noticeboard and start arranging your matches!

We also have some new staff members, on the greenkeeping side, we have Nick part time who has been a Greenkeeper here for many years on and off, and Jack is full time.  In the shop we have Dave part time.

We welcome them and are pleased that they are already proving to be important members of our team.

PLEASE WOULD ALL MEMBERS REFRAIN FROM USING THEIR PUTTER OR THE FLAGSTICK TO REMOVE THEIR BALL FROM THE HOLE.  IT IS CAUSING DAMAGE!
