Christmas Opening Times

Ladies & Ambassadors Christmas Competition

On Monday the 4th of December, the ladies and ambassadors had their annual Christmas competition. This year we ran it as a points-based competition with players earning points for their teams by competing in different events.

Although the weather was not the best, the ambassadors went out and played 9 holes. This was run as a 2 ball bowmaker with the victor getting the most points for their team.

Due to the weather, the ladies took part in a series of skill games rather than going out on the course. These consisted of a closest to the pin, longest accumulative drives, chipping into the basket and putting.

After the competition the ladies and ambassadors enjoyed sandwiches and mince pies. They also held a raffle with all the money raised £130 going to the Jane Scarth House Charity fund.

Ambassadors Christmas Lunch

This week we also held our annual Christmas lunch. This was at the Cleveland Bay pub with 23 ambassadors and partners in attendance. The food was enjoyed by all with positive feedback coming from those in who were there.

Charity – Jane Scarth House

Thank you to everybody who has helped support the fund raising carried out this year, we have now well eclipsed the £2000.00 mark of donations to the Jane Scarth House Charity. This is an outstanding achievement, but we believe we can boost this even more before the year concludes.  We would especially like to give a huge thank you to Ann Morris who held a wreath making class and managed to raise £475 to boost our charity funds.

There is still time to purchase your squares ready for the Christmas Raffle draw on New Year’s Day. Make sure you get your name down in as many squares as possible to enhance your chance of winning one of the prizes.

We have also recently stocked up our clubs for sale in the shop. Make sure you check these out for some amazing prices.  Again, all monies received from these sales will be donated to Jane Scarth House.

Greenkeeping

Despite the weather conditions we have been able to keep nine holes open, but it has been very challenging to say the least.  We continue to work to keep the golf course in the best condition we can subject to being able to get out and cut without doing too much damage to the course.

December’s 9 Hole Competition

We will be holding a back 9-hole stableford competition on the 14th of December. This is a rolling competition so can be played throughout the day and it will be a qualifying event. Therefore, this score will go towards to handicap.

Should you wish to take part, please get your name down on the sign-up board. Alternatively, you can come down and sign up on the day.
